MEET OUR TEAM

James has over 35 years’ experience in Financial Services. He has held a number of senior executive positions including Managing Director of CSA Consulting Group, Managing Director of Norwich Union Superannuation, Director of Norwich UnionTrustees, Head of Business and Responsible Officer of Challenger Superannuation Services and National Relationship Manager, Prime Super. He owned and managed a highly successful Superannuation Consulting Company for over 20 years. His organization provided high level Rural advice and support to most major Financial Institutions including Life Insurance Companies and Banks. He also assisted both State and Federal Governments in policy formulation and Industry feedback. James is based in Victoria and Queensland.
Mark is a Chartered Accountant who has worked for international accounting firms KPMG and Grant Thornton. He has spent most of his professional life working with businesses throughout rural and regional Australia. Mark has gained an enviable reputation as one of the leaders in transition and succession planning and has assisted many hundreds of family businesses to manage generational change and other business transition issues. Mark is based in NSW.
Richard became a partner in the major accounting firm, Grant Thornton in 1976. Richard served as the International Practice partner for Grant Thornton International and also as the Sydney firm’s Managing Partner for seven years. Richard’s passion is working with privately owned businesses, many of which are farming families. This passion led to Richard being one of the founders of the Next Group. When Richard is not at work, he enjoys running his cattle property in the Southern Tablelands. Richard is based at our head office in Sydney, however he works with farming families and regional businesses throughout Australia. Richard is based in NSW
Bill Adams has enjoyed a lifetime of involvement in Australian agriculture, having been raised on family farms around Moree & Inverell. His professional career in Banking & Finance has spanned 37 years with the past 17 years in NAB Agribusiness. During this period Bill held senior positions with NAB as Regional Agribusiness Manager - Moree, Regional Agribusiness Manager – Wagga Wagga and Head of NAB Agri’s Wealth/Financial Planning division based in Melbourne. Bill has a keen interest in Business Transition & Farm Succession and was instrumental in forming the strong relationship between the Next Group and NAB. Bill is passionate about providing solutions through a positive customer experience and assisting our farming families with their transition & succession needs.
Jessica has a decade of experience working for government and private agencies and has worked in a variety of roles include corporate, agriculture, trade and marketing. Jessica is passionate about export marketing and engaging with international audiences through the right channels. With in-depth knowledge of overseas markets and global networks, she has managed international marketing campaigns and trade development programs for the food and beverage sector across South East Asia, North Asia, China and the Middle East.
Joe Benson has over 35 years experience in a range of industries including information technology, financial services, aviation and business consulting. He has held senior executive roles with Norwich Union and Challenger Financial Services as well as owning and operating his own business ventures. Joe currently provides consulting services to a wide array of clients from large corporates through to SMEs. He is one of a selected few consultants recommended by the State Government of Victoria to assist businesses with grant applications and his services have also been utilised by the Frankston City Council’s Economic Development Department to mentor local businesses and assist with strategic planning. His areas of specialty include business management, information technology, workflow management, business strategies, marketing and financial management.
Geoff is a finance and marketing professional with 30 years of experience in banking and agribusiness. He has a practical analytical business focus. His responsibilities have included sales and business management functions within major business regions of NSW. He is experienced in formulating, negotiating and implementing business plans and Rural initiatives and delivering against business objectives. Geoff holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from the AGSM, University of NSW and an undergraduate degree in Applied Science Agriculture from Hawkesbury Agricultural College.
Brien Leibinger has over 30 years of legal experience.  During that time he has acted for a diverse range of clients, including business owners, farmers, professionals, independent retirees, publicly listed companies and mulit-national companies. Brien has expertise in commercial law and regularly acts in a wide range of commercial transactions. His in-depth knowledge of commonly used business structures also allows him to prepare tailored legal documents required by his clients to assist them with their commercial objectives. Brien is admitted and practises as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and is admitted to practice as a legal practitioner in Victoria and Papua New Guinea.  He is also recorded on the Register of Practitioners maintainted by the High Court of Australia.
Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and lawyer, specialising in tax, stamp duty and superannuation. His work as a commercial lawyer with over 25 years’ experience is largely focused on tax effective solutions, whether within family groups or involving third parties. Andrew is at the forefront of dealing with business restructuring and succession issues including estate planning and trust law. He is a frequent presenter on tax matters to the Tax Institute.
